He has pursued his Masters (M.S.) in General Surgery and Post Doctoral Degree (M.Ch) is Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery from Premier Institute, Maulana Azad Medical College, LNJP Hospital and GB Pant Hospital.

He has more than 33 years of surgical experience. He has worked as Chief of GI Oncosurgery in Rajeev Gandhi Cancer Institute and Action cancer Hospital in past. At present he is Director and Head of GI, GI Oncosurgery, Bariatric and Minimal access Surgery in Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi,
